Learn more about Kath from the Masonic Charitable Foundation
Kath Betts
Masonic Charitable Foundation
Kath is a member of the Advice and Support Team at the Masonic Charitable Foundation supporting Wiltshire Freemasons and their families. She is inspired and passionate about people and helping them to improve their situation.
Kath’s career in the charity sector covers a period of over thirty years and has worked for the MCF for seven years supporting people with newly acquired health conditions and disabilities that impact their lives and their ability to have the life they would like. She has been able to help, support and empower many people to improve their situations, making a positive change and difference to those individuals and their families.
Her role requires that she must always be at the top of her game when it comes to providing everyone with current and relevant advice, support and information that will help to reduce their distress and essentially improve their situation.
As a Visiting Adviser Kath travels long distances to meet with people face to face and when this is not possible contact is made remotely by phone or zoom. The workload of a Visting Adviser is varied and interesting and requires the need to adapt to meet the needs of Freemasons and their families, while at the same time allowing her appropriate time to organise her busy office routine.
The most important part of Kath’s role in the MCF is being able to make a personal connection with people so that they feel listened too, understood and respected in order to identify practical and relevant support and solutions that can make a real difference. Sometime this is by awarding a grant while other times it is simply by providing information, advice and guidance on how to move forward and navigate their way through the bureaucratic requirements surrounding statutory services and situations.
The Advice and Support Team’s services are available to Freemasons and anyone with a close connection to a Freemason.
